Malaika Libambu Schiller:

Malaika Schiller is currently a Masters of Public Health candidate at Emory University, studying Global Health with a concentration in Community Health and Development. She carries rich experiences from living, working, and traveling throughout West Africa. She is driven by compassion, curiosity, and philanthropy. Malaika will be volunteering at Shifa-al-Asqam (Healers of the Sick) Socio Medical Center in Kaolack, Senegal.
Young Leaders
Ricardford Conner:

Ricardford Connor is a recent graduate of Lincoln University PA where he majored in Chemistry. In the fall of 2010 he will be entering a Masters in Public health program at Drexel University and immediately following intends to continue onto Medical school. Ricardford is enthusiastic about this opportunity to travel to Senegal. He hopes to use all the knowledge and experiences gained through his education to return home to his native country of Anguilla and contribute to its social and economic development. Richardford will be volunteering with 10,000 Girls in Kaolack, Senegal.
Demyia Pridgen:

Demyia Pridgen is a recent graduate of Jackson State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a concentration in International Studies, and a Minor in Spanish. Beginning the fall 2010, she will be attending The Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado to pursue a Master of Arts in Social Change. She aspires to have a multifaceted career working with issues of social change such as empowering the rights for women and children, poverty, and HIV/AIDS advocacy. Demyia will be volunteering with 10,000 Girls in Kaolack, Senegal.
Kelauni J. Cook:

Kelauni Cook is a 2010 summa cum laude graduate from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Born and raised in a low income suburb of Chicago, IL, she has developed a strong interest in public health, youth advocacy, and research involving the black Diaspora. She hopes to one day use her passion in on-air VJing, video production, and communications to produce documentaries concerning economically depressed communities all over the world. She plans to use this wonderful opportunity with One World to broaden her experience in international community service and public health. Kelauni will be volunteering at Shifa-al-Asqam (Healers of the Sick) Socio Medical Center in Kaolack, Senegal.
Shamora A. Merritt:

Shamora A. Merritt is a student attending Howard University with a concentration in Psychology and Painting. Her passion encompasses uplifting and promoting positive change in all people, specifically women. She has a strong belief in woman’s rights around the world, and looks forward to her experience in Senegal to give her more exposure to the plight of African women. Upon graduation, she plans to recieve her master degree in art therapy, and continue toward receiving her PhD. Innovative in her ideas, beliefs and practices, Shamora believes anything is possible with the right motivation. Sharmora will be volunteering with 10,000 Girls in Kaolack, Senegal.
Sheyla Paola Medina:

Sheyla Medina is a 2010 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Societies and a minor in Nutrition. She has been involved in community and school-based health initiatives, public health advocacy, and research. These activities have motivated her to engage in social justice and human rights work with the One World Foundation. Sheyla will be volunteering at Shifa-al-Asqam (Healers of the Sick) Socio Medical Center in Kaolack, Senegal.
Lorenzo Daughtry-Chambers:

Lorenzo Daughtry-Chambers is a rising Senior at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancster Pennsylvania, where he is persuing a Bachelors degree in Government and Public Policy. Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. He is an aspiring musician who is passionate about human rights isssues and the elevation of the human spirit through education and music. Lorenzo will be volunteering with 10,000 Girls in Kaolack, Senegal.
