Heddy Nam
2010 Program Coordinator

A native of Seoul, South Korea, Heddy’s experiences as an immigrant to the United States helped shape her desire to work for social justice and cross-cultural understanding.  For the past ten years, she has been active in human rights, peacebuilding, and youth development in Africa, Asia, and the United States with organizations including Common Cents, Global Nomads Group, Amnesty International, Never Again International, and the Cambodian Center for Human Rights.  Heddy first joined One World in 2008 as the Group Leader of the Cambodia program.  She is thrilled to continue her work with the One World Foundation, where she can combine her passion for youth and education with her interest in human rights and international affairs.  She is a graduate of Barnard College, where she obtained her BA in Political Science and Human Rights Studies.

Intern

Lydia joined the One World team in February 2010 as an intern.  Prior to that, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English from Lincoln University in 2009.  Her passion for social justice was inspired by her coursework, which included many Political Science courses, at Lincoln University.  She plans to pursue a Master’s degree in International Affairs and aspires to work at the United Nations some day.  She has been active in youth development organizations such as the March of Dimes and recently joined iMentor.  In her spare time, Lydia enjoys blogging, keeping abreast of international affairs, and listening to music.
