Campaigns
One World’s mission is to encourage young people from disadvantaged and under-represented communities, particularly as they affect indigenous and minority rights, to become engaged in the international human rights and development arenas.
International human rights instruments, such as:
• International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination
• United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People
discuss the duty of States to guarantee the right to participation, equal access and social equity to members of minority and indigenous communities. Additionally, the UN Millennium Declaration discusses the importance of including minority rights in States’ approaches to development.
On our website is information on the challenges facing our partner NGOs and their communities around the world. Read about the various advocacy campaigns and ways you can help.
